THE WONDERS OF PHYSICAL EXERCISE

“You can’t talk about health without physical exercise.”

Incorporate regular physical activity into your life, preferably outdoors! Movement is life! It’s about finding a physical activity that you enjoy so that you can maintain it. Ideally, aim for a physical practice three times a week, for between 30 minutes and one hour.

  • Regular physical exercise improves all metabolic functions of the body, revitalizing it and increasing energy reserves.
  • It oxygenates the body.
  • It stimulates digestion through the self-massage of the involved organs.
  • It tones the heart (accelerates the heart rate but with less pressure on the heart); lowers blood pressure and protects against coronary diseases.
  • It improves lung capacity and optimizes gas exchange (our cells breathe).
  • It optimizes blood circulation, benefiting the venous return system through diaphragm movement.
  • It slows the acidification of tissues by activating all elimination organs (increases detoxification by up to six times through sweating).
  • It increases muscle strength, bone mineral density, and strengthens tendons and ligaments.
  • It affects the endocrine system and prostaglandin levels, lowering bad cholesterol.
  • It benefits the immune system, bile, and liver.
  • It oxygenates the brain (which increases brain function) and also combats stress and relaxes the mind.
  • Physical exercise boosts libido.
  • It is a highly beneficial treatment for anxiety, helping to balance the nervous system.
  • It secretes endorphins that activate the body’s natural pleasure mechanism, therefore acting against depression.
  • Practicing regular physical exercise increases deep sleep by approximately 20%—the sleep that allows the body to regenerate!
  • Exercise helps you maintain a healthy weight without drugs, starving yourself, or surgeries.
  • Exercise prevents diabetes by increasing chromium levels in tissues and improving the body’s ability to use available insulin.
  • Weight training or resistance exercise increases muscle mass. Since muscle requires more calories than fat, the result is an increase in the metabolic rate (basal metabolism). In other words, more calories are burned, making it easier to lose weight. People with good muscle mass are less susceptible to developing diseases like diabetes because the more muscle mass, the less insulin is needed to transport glucose from the blood to the tissues.
  • Physical exercise helps you feel good, strong, and full of life, which contributes to improving self-esteem.
  • Physical exercise prevents and prolongs the life of patients with hormone-dependent cancers. The explanation is simple: physical exercise reduces body fat, where estrogens develop, which stimulate the production of cancerous cells.
  • Physical exercise helps balance estrogen levels in the blood, preventing premenstrual syndrome and diseases like endometriosis.
  • Exercise helps prevent diseases like heart attacks, strokes, osteoporosis, diabetes, and cancer. Just 30 minutes of moderate exercise (such as walking) daily can reduce the risk of these diseases.
  • In short, exercise strengthens endurance, strength, vitality, health, beauty, brain function, and longevity.
